Dearly beloved readers,
A fine day to you. I hope you are well. For your general perusal and intellectual enlightenment, here is some information about this year’s Christmas orders…and beyond.
All your Christmas dreams may now come true, now that our Christmas Order form is available through our website. That’s right: key lime pie, cranberry-cherry streusel pie, pastry boxes, special loaves, special rolls—they can all be yours! I recommend placing an order sooner than later if you know you’d like something as some of our quantities are capped.
(The order form will close at the end of Saturday, Dec. 21. All orders for pickup Tuesday, Dec. 24 between 8am and 3pm. I expect some jovial fellows/ladies will be handing out hot drinks and rolls if you come early. Who knows?—if it’s cold, we’ll probably even get those solo stoves going.)
This coming week, that of Dec. 15, is the last standard week of the year with the usual offerings: bread, pastry, hoagies, etc. Then, the week of Christmas we’ll be open just one day, the pickup day, Tuesday, Dec. 24 from 8am - 3pm. We’ll have extras of most things available first come first served, but quantities will be limited. No baguettes that day.
This coming week is also the last for hoagies for the year. We’ve got a couple nice newer ones. The Irish Cheddar Love Letter packs tender roasted broccoli, Irish cheddar-garlic sauce, red onion, arugula, and pepitas. The Roast Beast, meanwhile, features a really nice roast beef, swiss, mushroom-leek spread, brown butter sage parsnip puree, arugula, and red onion. Get ‘em while they’re hot.
After the pickup day, we’ll take our annual winter recess and will plan to return to our labors, and our usual hours, on Wednesday, Jan. 22 2025. It seems like a long time, I know, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s not so bad.
It was a good year, 2024. I’m thankful for your patronage these close to eight years, and I wish you and yours the very best for 2025.
yours truly,
david the baker
