Beloved readers,
A fine morning to you. I do hope you’re well.
Please avail yourself to the following set of cold, hard facts, peer-reviewed and verified by experts to be trustworthy information untainted by personal prejudice or ideological attachment.
We are open today, Tuesday Nov. 26 from 8am to 2pm. We’re never open on Tuesdays except for this week of Thanksgiving and the occasional week of Christmas, so my staff and I strongly advise you to take advantage of this singular opportunity to experience the mythos of your very own bakery on a day you’d normally see a closed sign.
It’s a pretty standard retail day, with bread and pastry, the little sandwiches, plenty of baguettes. If you didn’t pre-order anything but would like something for the Thanksgiving table, this is a great day to stop in.
Tomorrow, Wednesday Nov. 27 we’ll be open from 8am - 5pm with a special emphasis on the pickup of pre-ordered holiday items. If you put in an order, this is your day to pick it up. If you didn’t, we should still have a good number of extras available for sale, but I advise coming early. No baguettes on Wednesday. But we do have a dedicated hospitality crew to hand out hot drinks and to keep the solo stoves well tended.
I made an error in my last email and said we’d return from our Christmas break on Wednesday Jan. 20. Upon further inspection there is no such date. In fact, we will return from our Christmas break on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Reminder that there are no hoagies this week. They’ll be back next week.
Thanks to the worthy efforts of my heritage carpenter brother, we have some nice new benches outside the shop. Everybody says how nice they are but nobody seems to be sitting on them so I just wanted to say: don’t be afraid. They’re open for business.
I guess that’s all for now. Thanks for your support all these years. A very fine week to you and yours.
yours truly,
david the baker
